Why Use the EEEZPoucH
Challenge 1: Materials
Weight pouches are commonly made of heavy canvas or nylon material generally with a zippered closure that can accommodate soft or hard block weights. On the other hand, the Hydros and S-TEK Pro BCD weight pockets are constructed from a flexible rubberized material called Monprene ® .These different materials result in a high level of friction upon meeting. Additionally, the soft case and the number of, and type of weights contained result in a pouch that is both heavy and unsteady. These factors combined make it very difficult to insert the weight pouches into the pockets, especially when wet in a dive environment. And they may be difficult to remove in an emergency situation, when it may be necessary to quickly remove one or both weight pouches.
Challenge 2: Pocket Opening
The opening, or mouth, of the Hydros and S-TEK Pro weight pockets tend to flop closed. This adds to an already difficult combination of material friction and a heavy unwieldy pouch. It is difficult to insert a pouch loaded with weight greater than 5lbs even when dry, and especially so in wet, salt water conditions.
Challenge 3: Maneuvering
The BCD, tank, weight pouches and other accessories can end up being quite heavy and cumbersome to maneuver. Thus, the user has two options: get another person to assist or utilize some type of support. While wearing the BCD, it generally takes another person to assist in getting the weighted pouches fully inserted into the BCD pocket. An alternative method is to insert the weight pouches into the BCD before putting it on. Either way, it requires some type of assistance from another person or the ability to place the weighted BCD on a shelf or platform to then get into the BCD
The EEEZ SolutioN to these issues & challenges is:
The EEEZPoucH is easily inserted into the Hydros and S-TEK BCD weight pocket which provides a new, unique option for these BCDs.
The EEEZPoucH is made of very high-quality, 600D Waterproof fabric, like the Hydros and S-TEK BCD. The exterior is coated with PVC while the interior maintains a natural, smooth, friction free material and requires little to no maintenance and reduced drying time.
The EEEZPoucH, due to its construction design, keeps the BCD’s weight pocket’s mouth open facilitating finding and inserting the weighted pouches into the pockets. This is especially helpful when wearing a wet suit and hood with restricted mobility and visibility to the weight pockets.
The EEEZPoucH allows Hydros and S-TEK weight pouches to easily be inserted and removed from the integrated weight pockets.
Instructors can carry additional weight and easily remove their weight pouches in order to provide students, while at depth, additional weight if they are underweighted.
Small items (such as a safety mirror) may be connected with a lanyard to a D-Ring & stored between the EEEZPoucH and the BCD weight pocket for streamlined stowage and easy access.
